CCDT Dec. Hop: "Home for the Holidays"

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another month of the CCDT Blog Hop. If you come from Sandy Mott's blog, you have come to the right place. Otherwise keep hopping away!

In this post, the challenge theme this month is "Home for the Holidays" set out by Sandy Mott.

At first I was a bit stumped. I kept asking myself what does this mean? A card, a decoration, an invitation? The list goes on and on. Then I told myself, just go with the flow, and whatever the outcome is, it will be a great one!

For my "Home for the Holidays", because of my new house, we now can hold a sit down dinner in one area instead of scattering all over the house.

I decided to create seating arrangements theme for my table and will be placing this on their dinner plate.

I used the tree from Santa's Sleigh thinlits, and die cut them out 6x in real red cs, and score down the middle.

Then, I removed the tree stump, fold and crease well with a bone folder before gluing the sides together. NOTE: I did not glue the whole side, just the middle.

Once the tree is formed, I took my multipurpose glue, and generously add glue to each of the tree stem. Then I poured dazzling diamonds on the glue so that it looks like snow on the tree. This is optional: I die cut the star 4x, score, and glue it together like I have with the trees. Set this aside to dry before attaching it to a box.

For the box, I created this box using my e-cutter. The box measures 2" x 2" square, and I added a tab in the front so that the recipient can open the box. The box is cut in crumb cake cs and covered up with cookie cutter dp.

When the box is assembled, hot glue the tree to the box, and hot glue the star to the tree. I then die cut and attach the reindeer (which is cut in gold foil). Here you can add the name of the person. The box inside holds a Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Candy.

This is an after thought when I finished creating this piece, I later thought you can make this as your Christmas Advent Calendar and it also can be a tree decoration.
