Birthday Blossoms + Brusho

Hello crafty friends,

Welcome to today's card + video share ... Happiest of Birthdays to You.

I am still playing with the Birthday Blossoms stamp set (p. 70) and this time with the yellow Brusho Crystal Color "YELLOW". There is a huge learning curve when using Brusho Crystals for the first time.

Here is what I learn to share with you!

Brusho Crystal (p. 26 of the OC) is watercolor ink crystals, and when you mix it with water, the pigment is so vibrant!  The crystals are intense paint powder that is water-based and non-toxic. Use it wet-on-wet, sprinkling, spritzing, and other techniques. It can be used to stain wood and fabric. This set of 5 includes Yellow, Brilliant Red, Gamboge (orange), Moss Green, Prussian Blue. Each pot is 15 grams (.5 oz).

Use very little amount of these crystals. These bottles will probably last you a life time. If you can share with a buddy.

The best source of paper is watercolor paper. The pigment moves freely and so unpredictable when using watercolor paper. Unpredictable is the best part of crafting, let the color takes it course without thinking. This is how I teach my clients … don’t think, and just let it go!

You will need to protect your area as it can stain clothes and working area.

In this card share, I am using Whisper White cs, and Yellow Brusho Crystal, together with my aqua painter brush. The trick is not use too much water with the Whisper White cs.

Because I want to be in control with the coloring, and not have the pigment move outside the stamped image surface. I stamped the image in versamark ink, and embossing with black powder. When coloring, the crystals will stay within the embossed lines.
